ABOUT

Throughout my life, I have always been connected to art in some way. I was always involved in different art clubs or classes from elementary school to high school. Then leading up to college, I knew I wanted to keep art in my life and potentially follow a career path in art.

I attended the County College of Morris and graduated with my Associate's Degree in Photography Technology. I then transferred to Fairleigh Dickinson University where I am now studying Studio Arts. While attending County College of Morris, I used their resources of photography equipment, and I reached out to different small jewelry businesses to photograph their pieces of jewelry. This gave me the experience of freelance work working with businesses. Now, I am focusing on completing my Studio Arts degree, and am hoping to find a career in this path.

Artist Statement

In my paintings and drawings, I use realistic subjects and ideas to create my work. I hope in creating my paintings and drawings, I bring a sense of joy to the viewer due to the realistic view I attempt to capture in my work. In my work this far, I enjoy creating landscapes and capturing the representational beauty in them, creating them to look like the viewer is looking directly at the scene. I find it most comforting to use an already existing reference or idea to construct paintings or drawings; art comes naturally to me when I am influenced and inspired by the beauty of the world. Blue skies, blooming flowers, running water, and other scenery are some lovely things that bring me inspiration. When fabricating my work, matters such as the specific color and drawing/painting techniques, or the placement of subjects and the overall composition of the piece are all purposeful in how I hope the viewer interprets the pieces.
